I hired a pool through Gentle Births because it’s such a brilliant price for all the things you receive. Unfortunately on the day it arrived I had to go to hospital urgently and was told I could no longer have a home birth and would need to be induced urgently. Not only were the team lovely and supportive in such a stressful time but when I asked if I could possibly get any money back, honestly expecting a no I was told I absolutely could get a refund less the cost for delivery and collection which makes total sense, and when I told them I couldnt have it collected the day they planned as that was my induction day, they were so relaxed and told me to let them know when I was ready to send it back which I have just done, the day after I gave birth.
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience and I really hope, if I decide to put myself through the pain of childbirth again, that I will be able to do it at home and if so, I will certainly use this company again and recommend it to anyone who would like to have a water birth in the comfort of their own home.

Absolutely amazing service from gentle births birthing pool hire. Everything made VERY easy, from ordering (including advice on what we needed and making sure we had the correct hose connector), to drop off and set up (all made extremely easy for my husband to do a dry run and to set up on the day!) and pick up service also super fast and easy!
We had an absolute dream labour and birth and our beautiful daughter was born at home, still in her sac in the pool!

I would happily recommend the gentle birth pool hire to anybody planning to have a home birth. I was given the details by my community midwife and I'm so pleased with the service I received. I hired the mini birthing pool which was the perfect size for us, the delivery was arranged for when I was available, the pool was easy to use with the instructions provided and Amy was so helpful, even when I emailed on a Sunday night to arrange the pool being collected (which is was the Monday!). I got the home water birth I really wanted and if the need ever arose I would hire another again in a flash!

First time using Gentlebirths pool hire and me and my partner were absolutely blown away.
Not only was Ceri extremely polite during the hiring process, her customer service was impeccable. I accidentally called her around 7pm and she called me back within 10 mins and spend at least 15mins with me on the phone helping me set up the pool and constantly reminded me not to hesitate to call her regardless of the time of day.

Gentlebirths was recommended by a friend and I'm so pleased it was, amazing service from the start. I decided late to book a pool and found none available but a last minute cancellation meant Ceri was able to get one out to be straight away in the end. Laboured and gave birth in pool at home, wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Would 100% recommend the company, everything has been so easy, thank you Ceri and Amy you do a fantastic job!

We booked with Gentle Births as soon as we planned our home birth at 8 weeks pregnant, the process of reserving our pool was easy and straightforward - we were given a date when we would be contacted for drivers which we were and the pool arrived 3 days later.
We ordered the mini birth pool in a box and this was more than big enough, the whole birth experience was absolutely amazing and I would recommend Gentle Births to anyone considering a home water birth.

Im only able to comment on the service received as we didn't get to use the pool (baby arrived 10 minutes before courier delivered the pool) but this company were great from the reservation and service, talking through our needs and plan, talking my husband through set up and top tips and tricks, making sure we had the right connector for our taps and lending a mirror as required. If we have another, would definitely use again. Thanks so much.

Had the best experience renting a tens machine. They were so accommodating and quickly supported when Royal Mail lost my initial shipment. The pricing is great but the service is impeccable. The tens unit was so helpful during labour and everything was packaged so perfectly. Would recommend this company to everyone!!

I would like to leave a message to thank gentle births birthing pool hire! From the moment i reserved my pool to returning the pool the process was seamless. This company offers everything you in need one box! As my due date came closer I was contacted to confirm I still wanted the pool and Ceri supported with me with ensuring the correct tap connector was sent and talked me through the options. The pool arrived the next day. My husband inflated and filled pool while I was in labour and said the instruction booklet with very easy to follow. After baby was born in the pool the emptying process was also easy to follow. I contacted Ceri to advise baby had arrived and collection was arranged for the next day. Ceri made the process so easy and her personal customer service approach is so lovely! I would highly recommend!

I had always wanted a water and a homebirth with my first I didnt get either, this time being pregnant during a global pandemic made even being pregnant scary but also pushed me to want a water homebirth even more. From start to finish Ceri was amazing and had answers to any questions I had, my pool was delivered I plenty of time in a perfect little box, was easy to set up and fill (my poor hubby sorted that) and as soon as it was ready in I got and 2 hours later my beautiful little girl arrived in the pool in my front room just perfect! Wow where do I start, back in June I hired my birthing pool and Ceri from the beginning of my journey to the finish was superb, she was so friendly, helpful and informative, anything I was worried about or needed advice on Ceri was more than happy to help plus so nice having a good chin wag through the lockdown too 😉, I felt so calm after we spoke and knew I had made the right decision to hire my pool with you as I was confident that I would get my dream birth at home which I did! . It was so perfect having the pool there but just when I was about to step into my little man didnt wait so I held onto the pool and let nature take its course I ended up in my hubby's arms till my baby was born but just knowing I had the pool there helped me birth my baby naturally at 43 weeks at home and my first natural birth after 2 csections this was just mind blowing. I couldn't of done had I of not had the pool there. I will definitely hire again in the future, and highly recommend anyone who is considering hiring to hire here, A1 service 👌☺️. A home water birth was the best decision I have ever made. Especially during lock down.
I had my baby boy at home, in the pool I hired on 1st april 2020.
The pool was amazing, I had really painful legs when my labour kicked off. But when I got in the pool it just vanished. My contractions were coming thick and fast and the water helped them slow down just a little bit.
I was in the pool from 3am and baby was born at 5:47am.

Ceri has been such a delight to deal with. Being an expectant mother during lockdown can be stressful enough without having to worry about small things. This is a little message from myself and my wife Lisa. Thankyou very much for all your help and kindness. The Birthing pool was a great success and an added bonus Lisa and I ended up delivering the baby ourselves. The midwife was on route but baby had other ideas and wanted to grace us with his presence earlier then expected.
The large pool was amazing and plenty big enough for both of us. It released so much pressure on Lisa' s back when she got in the warm water.
The pool kept its temperature for a good couple of hours before slowly cooling . I would recommend Gentle Births Birthing Pool Hire to everyone. The customer service you provided to us Ceri was first class and for that I can't thankyou enough.

I chose gentlebirths as Ceri was so helpful over the phone and helped my wife and I chose the right pool for us. I especially found her to be really agile when we didnt recieve our hose intially and we then received one the next day which was amazing. My wife used the pool for a few hours and she said she found it so helpful before the final transition to pushing. We now have an amazing daughter and highly recommend this company.

So impressed. We received the pool 3 weeks before due date so in plenty of time. Our baby was quite overdue so we had the pool a while but no hassle at all from anybody about it. Ceri was so fantastic. I contacted her at 37 weeks and had a pool within days. She runs an incredibly efficient but really personal business - I really felt she cared about my birth and wanted the best for us. The pool was so easy to set up, set down, repackage and send back. Cannot fault the whole process. It was such a comfortable pool to be in too, i could never have managed without it.

Just want to finally get round to saying how helpful and efficient gentle births were for hiring a pool for the birth of my son back in July. The service was so easy to use with prompt delivery/collection and the pool came with super easy instructions. I don’t think I’d have managed to home birth a 10lb baby without the relief of the water - and they’re so much more comfortable on the knees than the hard plastic hospital pools! I’m still almost slightly disappointed the labour was so fast I only got to spend a couple of hours in the water! For anyone looking to have a homebirth, would 100% recommend hiring from here 👍

This company was fantastic and Ceri was so amazing! The pool was perfect and just what we needed to help make our home birth as perfect as it was. I feel the need to use water as a painkiller in labour so it really wouldn't have been an option to have our son at home without the opportunity to hire a pool. Always responded quickly and very friendly. I will recommend hiring from this company to all mummies to be. With minimal stress, this pool was delivered very quickly with everything we needed and easy to set up/take down and collected again. Sadly, things didn't go according to my original birth plan, and I ended up in hospital with an emergency procedure.
However, I did get a chance to use the pool for a bit, and the service and the support I received from Ceri was just outstanding! Our baby arrived at home in the water after a 25 hour birth. I was in the water for all active stages of birth. The water was amazing and I only had gas and air at the end as I was falling asleep I was so tired.

Ceri, what a wonderful lady! I can't recommend her enough. She was so helpful and nothing was too much to ask. When I ordered my pool and it was due for delivery Ceri informed me there was a puncture and that she was not content with sending the pool out to me, so she ordered me a brand new pool.
The pool arrived the next day together with Ceri’s instruction and equipment box with absolutely everything needed.
Ceri’s detailed instructions made everything really easy to set up.

What an amazing service! Ceri was so lovely and personable, I felt like I was hiring the pool from a trusted friend. A couple of weeks before my due date my maternity trust said they had stopped renting out birth pools leaving me to frantically try and find one in time. After some shopping around I came accross Ceris website and found her process and prices to look the most favourable. Ceri talked me through the birth pool options and was amazingly helpful. I had a birth pool within 2 days!
The delivery process was smooth and the box came with clear intrustructions on inflating/deflating the pool. Unfortunately we only got as far as blowing up the pool due to a transfer to hospital. Ceri was quick to reply to all queries and clearly really cares about what she does. Will definitely be using Ceris service again for baby number 2!

Absolutely amazing and really personal service from Ceri. From the moment we spoke she felt like part of our birthing team, really interested in us as a family and so happy to hear about our journey. Pool came exactly when expected, no hassle at all, really easy to set up and the pool literally made the birth.
My wife went in to Labour around 2pm, was 4cm at 6pm but after getting in the pool at 8.30pm quickly become fully dilated and at 10:30 our beautiful daughter was born.
My wife says she doesnt know hoe she would have done it and with out pain relief if it wasnt for the pool. We can't recommend it enough and will deffinitely be hiring one again in the future for births.

We hired our pool, delivery was quick and efficient and everything we could have needed was included. Unfortunately LO decided that a home.birth was not in her plan so I ended in hospital. So kind and friendly and helpful, felt like I’d known her for years! The Baby Girl Card was unexpected and very much appreciated. Thank you so much Ceri for the amazing birthpool hire service. From start to finish the process was made so simple and stress free. Your communication and customer service throughout was second to none and considering we had only spoken via email, I felt as if I’d known you years! Any problems or questions that we had during the hire time were answered straight away, late at night sometimes, leaving us with nothing but confidence and excitement for our big day. The pool was easy to set up and took no time at all and was just as easy to empty, clean and pack away thanks to the step by step guide provided in the box.
I had really hoped for a water birth for my first son but unfortunately going into hospital slowed things down for me and the pool didn’t help with matters. So, this time round I was more adamant to try and have a waterbirth again and after deciding to have a homebirth I knew that my chances of that would be much higher.
Well what can I say it was simply amazing! The pool was great, so soothing for my lower back discomfort and a great pain relief. it was so nice to be able to relax in the warm water between contractions and feel weightless.
We hired the mini pool which was a perfect size with plenty of room to change positions between contractions.
On the 5th December at 740am we had a little boy born at home in the pool after an established labour of 1:55 minutes.
Two hours after giving birth my lounge was returned to normal as if nothing had happened!
We were so lucky, everything that we had hoped for happened allowing us to have such an amazing positive homebirth that will stay with us forever. Ceri your service contributed to this amazing experience so thank you so much. I will be sure to recommend gentle birth birthing pool hire to anyone enquiring after a waterbirth!

After initially being apprehensive about a home birth, after undertaking some research I fully supported my wife for the home birth she wanted.
We found this company online through a recommendation on Facebook, and I am so glad we did. Ceri is so friendly and helpful and the instructions were so simple.
The mini birth pool in a box was a really great size (despite my wife being 5ft 8inch, it was plenty big enough) and helped my wife immensely when in established labour. She had the water birth she dreamt of, and the clean up operation was so much easier than I had anticipated thanks to Ceri’s clear instructions.
We both highly recommend Ceri and her birthing pools!

Probably the most seamless experience of the whole pregnancy / labour was the ordering and use of this birth pool. Ceri was fantastic and other service providers should aspire to be like her. I loved using my birth pool, labour was everything I hoped it would be, at home, relaxed, in and out of the pool and having these options in the comfort of my own home...best decision I made was homebirth and using Gentle Births. It took me a while to finally decide on a home birth, and I can't thank Ceri enough for all her help in getting the pool to us in time! I felt very lucky to be able to have a calm and stress-free birth, and although I was only in the pool for 15minutes before my daughter was born it was wonderful to be able to have her in the water!! I hoped for a home birth in the pool with my previous pregnancy, but my daughter arrived too early so I never got to use the pool that we bought and we sold it. This time (my third pregnancy) we didn't want the pool saga again, until I found out by chance about Gentle Births pool hire quite late in my pregnancy. It seemed so easy and affordable, and after I called Ceri I was confident that it would work this time. Ceri was so accommodating and friendly. I explained my worries about my baby being born early, and she reassured me that I would not need to pay or receive the pool until I was confident that the home birth was going ahead. So I had my pool arriving on the day my bump turned 37 weeks. The pool delivery was easy! The instructions were very comprehensive and easy to follow. On the day when my son decided to arrive (at 38w 4d), he didn't give us much time (the whole birth was 3 hours), and my husband managed to get the fire going and inflate and fill the pool up (all while he was cuddling my daughter who was unwell with a cold) in time for me to have my dream home water birth. I was very pleased to be in the water - I have heard but never got to experience myself up until then the relaxing power of water. The intensity of birth just got that bit more manageable and I felt calmer and more confident in myself. The pool was very comfortable and a perfect size (we hired mini). Thankfully my friend and midwives arrived soon after that and my son was born beautifully straight into my arms. The emptying, cleaning and packing of the pool was also just as easy as setting it up. Ceri was so helpful at answering our questions whenever we had one, and arranged for the pick up at a convenient time. I highly recommend Gentle Births Pool hire. And huge thank you to Ceri for making it possible for me to have my dream birth!

What amazing service! We had decided very late in our pregnancy to have a home birth and became of this our midwife was struggling to find a pool for us. We couldn’t decide if we should rent or buy but I’m so glad we rented from Gentle Births. I ordered the pool on the Tuesday by 12 and it arrived by 9am on the Wednesday which was very lucky because I went into labour in the early hours of Wednesday morning and the baby was out only a couple of hours later. So very thankful that this service and delivery was so quick..Everything we needed was in the box and it was very easy for my husband to set up.

At a time when i was very anxious I didn't want to risk going with a company who may let me down and fall silent at a time when i needed them. Ceri was great, she responds very quickly and often 'out of hours', which gave me great reassurance that whatever my request she would be able to offer a response ASAP.
Her service is seamless. Delivery was prompt and her equipment really well organised.

Thank you so much Ceri, the pool was perfect with everything you need included which was not the case on lots of other websites I looked at. The instruction manual included had everything you could want to know included and was very detailed. Delivery and pick up of the pool was very well organised and painless (greatly appreciated when you have a newborn).
At one stage I thought I might have to be induced so wouldn’t get my water birth but luckily she came along of her own accord and cams along swiftly once getting into the pool. The water bought contractions from 7 mins apart to 1 minute almost immediately and she was born within the hour. The water was so beneficial I didn’t need any other pain relief. My husband found cleaning the pool/emptying it, to be easy and straight forward- again very useful when you are a bit dazed and confused. I would highly recommend Ceri and her fantastic service and should I have any more babies I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again. Thank oh so much for everything, Katie

From start to finish I cannot recommend Ceri and her professional, friendly service enough. She helped me to chose the right size birth pool and fully explained everything to me. Although I never used the pool (my baby arrived too quickly!) I can still highly recommend gentle births. Ceri is one of the nicest, sincerest people I've ever spoken with. She was genuinely interested in my birth experience and even sent a card when my daughter was born. 10/10 on every level!!

Hiring a birth pool from gentle births couldn’t have been easier. Ceri answered any queries really quickly and could not do enough to ensure everything went smoothly. You can tell she genuinely cares. The pool arrived in plenty of time and the information folder provided was extremely helpful for setting up and dismantling the pool. We hired both a Birth Pool In A Box and a TENS machine from Ceri at Gentle births. As a first time mum, choosing to have a home birth was a big decision. The next big decision was whether to hire a birthing pool and TENS machine or not. After doing some research I came across gentle births website and contacted Ceri with a flurry of questions. A friendly and super helpful approach was the main reason we decided to go with this particular company over many others. The TENS machine was essential in early labour to get me through the hours of contractions. When it came to the pool, the kit provided was perfect. The instructions were clear and well-presented making the challenge of assembly straightforward. When it came to the big day my husband set up a birthing pool with no issues. Meaning that when the time was right -towards the end of my labour - I was able to use the pool to give birth to my little boy in exactly the way we'd hoped for. Returning the pool was just as simple and Ceri was on hand every step of the way for any questions or queries.
Thank you so much - without these essential items I don't think I would have been able to give birth at home and I will definitely be recommending gentle births to anyone who is considering a home birth.

I did a lot of research before choosing Gentle Births Birthing Pool Hire and I can not recommend them enough! The customer service was superb! Ceri thoroughly explained the differences between the pools before booking so I knew I was making the right decision for me. When I had a question about the pool when it arrived I received a reply within an hour! Everything was so easy and the instructions that are sent with the pool explain everything you need to know about how to use the pool during labour. I had the best labour I could have ever hoped for and that was because the pool provided endless comfort. I felt safe and comfortable in the pool for my entire labour. It was the only place that I could get really comfortable. I hired a mini pool in a box for our birth and it was the best decision I ever made, especially after a previous bad hospital birth.
Ceri was lovely, very helpful, explained everything and made the experience completely stress free. The pool was amazing, everything we needed was included and the birth couldn't have gone any better.

I would definitely recommend Ceri and Gentle Births birth pools. Absolutely outstanding service and Ceri was there for me every step of the way. She even arranged the delivery back to her so you just have to pack it all away. I came to Ceri at 37 weeks and thought I may not be able to get a pool in time but Ceri arranged everything for me so quickly. The pool inflated easily and didn't take too long to fill. The step by step guide was invaluable, even if my husband did accidentally drop it in the pool while filling it up. I had the opportunity to borrow a pool from somebody but made the decision to hire and I'm glad I did. Considering all the extras and the essentials that I would have needed to buy (pool liner etc) the pool hire is an excellent price in my opinion, as absolutely everything you need is included.
I booked very last minute but it wasn't a problem. What I wanted was available and shipped out to me in no time at all, with trackable delivery. The communication from Ceri is superb, she will keep you totally informed. She was available to answer any questions and even made all the arrangements for the courier to come and collect everything afterwards, when it suited me. Which is something I'm grateful I didn't have to sort out myself during the newborn baby haze. It was all so easy.
The pool was in perfect condition and the service was excellent.

I can’t recommend this company highly enough. It’s such a personal service, Ceri was there every step of the way & was so helpful and friendly-I felt like we personally knew each other. There were no problems from ordering to collection. Luckily my birth went well too and was a fantastic experience (as much as it can be). I would recommend a water birth to anyone. I thought hiring one would be a real faff but it was so easy and Ceri made me feel at ease with everything. & putting it back in the box was really straightforward. I won’t be having another baby as this was my 3rd (I wish I knew about this company for my 2nd) but if I was having another child I would definitely use this again. It was such a bargain too. The pool was delivered fast with no issues whatsoever and contained everything you'd need for a home water birth. Unfortunately due to health issues I was induced at 38 weeks and wasn't able to have the lovely birth I had planned at home. I was so upset by this and had to send the pool back. A friend recommended Ceri and Gentle Births after using them herself and I am so pleased I followed her suggestion! Ceri made the whole booking task an easy one, she was lovely and friendly on the phone and always helpful even over her weekends and evenings! We never got around to filling our pool as my labour progressed too quickly but it was so relaxing to know we had everything to hand if we could have used it, and without having to worry about collecting anything. The pool was perfect, came with everything we'd need (last time I hired locally and still had to go and buy my own hose, connector, pump etc) and collection when the time came was prompt, despite a bit of faffing around on my end. Unfortunately I didn't get to use the pool for birthing, and actually returned it before I went into labour due to choosing to be in hospital after a couple of minor complications. Ceri was absolutely fantastic; incredibly caring, kind and understanding. Most of our conversations about delivery/collection, whether I still needed the pool etc were via text and Ceri made organising having a pool so easy she took away all the stress, which is exactly what you want when you have so many other things going on. She shared her own story with me when I was worried about something and it really has been like arranging something with a friend. The pool arrived exactly when I expected, all boxed up perfectly with everything and really clear instructions of what to do with it, how to get it ready and how to return it - she made it very simple! I feel sad that I won't be using the pool but ambso pleased I contacted Ceri to hire. She's an absolute star and I wish every company you deal with during pregnancy or not had a Ceri! I really can't recommend using Gentle Births enough. For anyone unsure of who to use, pick them!

What a fabulous service, Ceri was wonderful and friendly to talk to made things so easy the pool was delivered quickly and come with great instructions as to how to use/set up I had a long labour 36hrs and spent 24+ of them in the pool unfortunately didn't get to have my son in the pool but couldn't of don't it without the pool it was such great pain relief for me and I highly recommend it to anyone, if I'm ever to have another child I will definitely be coming back to hire a pool again, THANK YOU so much Ceri x

Great service! Quick and easy delivery and pick up. I Ordered quite late on in my pregnancy so was lovely speaking to Ceri to make sure everything was in order and ready to come in time.
Sadly I didn’t get to experience my ideal water birth at home as my little boy arrived within 45 minutes and during a hospital check..
perhaps if we ever go for baby number 4 I will get the home water birth I hoped for. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ceri she’s a lovely & very helpful lady!

From the point of reservation to sending back the pool, Ceri was quick to respond and took a genuine interest in our family. When my baby was found to be breech at 36 weeks, she offered a flexible approach to booking and payment until we knew the baby was head down. My husband and I decided quite late in the pregnancy to have a home birth and I ended up odering the pool with 37 weeks. Ceri was so helpful and concerned to get the pool to me asap. And although we hit a few hurdles with the delivery company, Ceri sorted everything out very quickly. And good job she did as a day after the pool was delivered, our baby decided it is time to be born.

Ceri was a pleasure to deal with - the whole process was fuss-free. At relatively short notice she found us a La Bassine pool and got it delivered to us really quickly. On arrival the pool seemed like it was brand new. The instructions were very clear, and it was easy for my husband to inflate and fill. Our baby boy was born in the pool in our front room which was wonderful. The pool was also easy to pack up afterwards. Finally, Ceri was very helpful in arranging for pick-up of the pool despite the snow complicating things a bit.
In general Ceri was brilliant at communicating throughout the whole process, from start to finish, even sending us a card to congratulate us! We would definitely recommend Gentle Births Birthing Pool Hire.

I pre ordered a pool with a different company which let me down when I was 38weeks pregnant they didn’t even inform me that they were not going to send me a pool. I have just been blown away by the service that Ceri offered - it was incredibly personal and she went above and beyond at every stage to take the stress out of the process and fit in with my needs. She helped me to choose the right pool for my tiny little flat and delivery was easy and Ceri arranged it all around my timings.
